Just like his hit song, Sean Paul has “the right temperature” when he helps kicks off the return of Ditch Fridays at the Palms pool. The reggae rapper will be on-hand Friday May, 7 when the popular pool party starts another season as one of the best reasons to “ditch” work. The party is happening so unfortunately, your boss or a co-worker also might be there so it’s a good idea to bring one of those big floppy hats and maybe even some over-sized novely Big Bird sunglasses.

The Ditch party rocks from noon to 7PM every Friday. Sean Paul will be performing live at 3PM for the kickoff party. Admission to Ditch Fridays is $25 or free for local ladies.

If you still have the energy (this is Vegas so who doesn’t?), New Kids on the Block will be performing later that night and Saturday too at The Palms inside The Pearl Concert Theater.

If you’re staying at Green Valley or fancy a short drive to Henderson, Barley’s Casino and Brewing Company is hosting the 7th Annual Brewfest on May 15 from 2-8PM. In addition to their own special beers for the event, Buckbean Brewing Company, Boulder Dam Brewing Company, Gordon Biersch, Stone Brewing Company, Tenaya Creek, Chicago Brewing Company, Czechvar, Bosteel and Kokanee.

Music will be provided by local acts Otherwise, Kil Jaden and Noise Media starting at 5PM with DJ Ron Ferraro spinning an early set from 2-5PM.

Brewfest tickets are $30 and if you’re not into sampling beer, there are $5 sandwiches and a cash bar for cocktails.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas started 2010 off with throngs of celebrities, parties and the grand opening celebration of Las Vegas’ hottest new nightclub, Vanity.

Electricity filled the air of on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 as a seemingly endless line of partygoers wrapped around the recently opened 40,000 square feet of casino space inside the Vanity. Before hitting the red carpet to jump start the opening celebration, Diddy spent the evening shooting a music video with indie rock band Chester French for their song “Ciroc Star”. Afterwards, he fueled up by enjoyed dinner in his luxurious penthouse suite before heading downstairs to host Vanity’s grand opening celebration. Shortly after Diddy’s arrival, DJ Clinton Sparks jumped on the mic to welcome the music mogul as well as the crowd of partygoers. Sparks then began playing one of Diddy’s songs, which caused rapper Nelly, Diddy and Chester French to all stand up and dance, causing the crowd to roar with energy and excitement. As the crowd danced in the glow of Vanity’s spectacular 20,000 LED light cyclone chandelier, Diddy stood up on the DJ booth and shouted to the crowd “hey west coast, this is the hottest spot in Vegas,” before performing “Ciroc Star”.

Later that evening, even more elite patrons joined in on Vanity’s grand opening gala. The beautiful singer and model Cassie as well as professional golfer Anthony Kim danced the night away with Diddy and friends.

Vanity’s grand opening bash attracted a seemingly endless flow of famous faces. In addition to Diddy and Chester French, other celebrities spotted Saturday night include: R&B artist Iyaz, managing partner of Vanity Cory McCormack, Major League Baseball player Jason Giambi, actor Jay Hernandez- E!’s Ben Lyons, actor Keith Robinson, actor (“Avatar”) Laz Alonso, rapper Nelly, DJ Clinton Sparks, actress Meagan Good, actor (“Glee”) Dijon Talton, rapper Rick Ross, professional golfer Anthony Kim, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, Josh Johnson of the Florida Marlins, and singer and model Cassie.

While on property this weekend, Diddy spent both Friday and Saturday night in one of seven Penthouses in the newly opened all-suite HRH Tower. Unlike anything seen in Vegas or around the world, HRH Tower includes 359 “standard” suites, eight spa villas opening directly to the pool areas, and seven penthouse suites on the 16th floor offering panoramic views of the iconic Vegas strip and mountains.
